This site
Designed and built by me, like everything on it.
A portfolio has one job: show the work and get out of its way. This one is also the nearest example of how I build a website.

The system
Three typefaces, five colours, two curves.
- Fraunces · statements
- A headline is taken in whole, so it can afford a serif.
- Geist · reading
- Anything read at length is set in a sans with even strokes, so nothing thins out and disappears on a dark ground.
- Geist Mono · labels

A few details.
The work does the talking
Every frame holds a real screen or a real recording. The page says one line about each and stops.
Two grounds, one accent
Ink for showing, paper for reading, and one colour for anything you can press.
Motion with a reason
Things move to show depth or a change of state. Nothing moves to fill a silence, and scrolling is never taken over.
